Manifesto
The musical current that once missed being called
"metapop"
was born in the late 1970s and reshaped itself into
technopop.
Its spirit has been cultivated through new wave, techno, and EDM,
now permeating popular music.
Yet simultaneously, the shock of the
"musical Big Bang"
ignited by synthesizers and computers
still drifts as an antimatter echo.
Twenty-first-century music production is almost entirely routed through computers,
and that once-symbolic notion of
"inorganic" now belongs to the past.
"Metapop" is music for those who live in the future.
metama is the
gate that welcomes them.
We stand in the "ma" (interval)
where past and future intersect,
redefining new pop from that vantage.
